Soccer USA Inc. has more room since opening this week in a larger space in Mallory Corner Shopping Center next to anchors Barnes & Noble and Comp USA.

Murfreesboro-based Soccer USA is a specialty retailer that sells equipment to many college, high school and club teams in the Nashville area. Inventory issues and a growing customer base put the idea of a new location into play.

The retailer, which had run a 2,000-square-foot store at 127 Franklin Road for 12 years, is now working out of 3,000 square feet at 1701 Mallory Lane.

“We’ve merchandised it better in this store,” says Pawel Miller, Soccer USA store manager. “It’s just an overall better shopping environment.”

Brandon Plunkett, leasing agent at Baker Storey McDonald Properties, brokered the deal and represented the owners of Mallory Corner.

“They really felt they were getting a lot of Brentwood folks and they wanted to draw from Franklin and Brentwood,” Plunkett says.

Mallory Corner’s owners agreed to split 7,200 square feet to house Soccer USA. The shopping center now has 4,200 square feet vacant. Plunkett says multiple tenants are interested in the location.
